Shiga reference appears as part of the annual display of Christmas and New Year traditions in two dozen or more countries. Among the 32 local Grand Rapids landmark buildings made from vegetable materials there are also landmark buildings from each of the city's Sister Cities around the world, including from Shiga-ken.
